A Place On Memory Lane

A little lonely today--

Hello everyone from Memory Lane!

It's been a slow week and I'm craving some adult contact!  LOL!  I have gotten my paperwork caught up, though and even convinced my little people to clean up their play area.  Don't be surprised if it's messy again, though if you stop in!  I could stand to clean up my own "play area" (aka the workshop area at the shop!).   Unfortunately, I am a very messy scrapper/crafter. 

I've been busy working on several projects.  I've completed 3 Disney themed albums since my retreat in March: a 12x12, a 6x6 for Nanny and a coaster flip album for my grandmother.  I need to step away from those Disney pictures.

I really, really need to step away from the COASTERS!  Playing with chipboard coasters has become my obsession.  I've made calendars, albums, boxes, wall hangings, lacing cards, heck I even used them to create a treasure hunt for J's Birthday party!  I challenge you to 'borrow' a few from your favorite eating establishment (or you can stop in the shop--I have 3.5" square ones for .10 each!) and letting your imagination go wild.  A great way to use up scraps and extras. 

I've sent out few email lately about all the great events coming up here at Memory Lane and in the surrounding area.  Here's a quick review. 

**Friday April 18th Workshop 7pm until Midnight (space available--join us!) $5

**Saturday April 19th Fabulous Felt Scrapaholic Class 10 am (a few spots left!  Call to register!) $15

**Saturday April 26th Gate Fold Album Scrapaholic Class 10am.  $15

**Saturday May 3rd Faith Christian Academy Crop 9a-9p at FCA gym.  Call/email for info.

**Friday May 9th JEFFERSON COUNTY SCRAPPERS NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY CELEBRATION--6pm until midnight at Bolivar Community Center.  Fee for this event is $15 and includes light supper and snacks plus prizes, gifts, contests and games.  Register by May 1st by calling Memory Lane or Dana Werner or Betty Dillow.  Everyone Welcome!

**Saturday May 18th Crop/Workshop 7pm until midnight.  $5

Procrastination

All week I've managed to procrastinate blogging.  Now I need to pack for an away crop tomorrow in Lovettsville and I am procrastinating by posting here.  Go figure! 

Basic Grey's 2 Scoops line is finally ALL in stock at Memory Lane!  Wow--that one took awhile.  We have also received a ton of new Around the Block items!  FUN school paper that reverses to cool school 'forms', New pet paper, Color Me Paper and MORE!  Around the Block paper is ALL double sided divinely heavy weight cardstock.  You have to see the cute Dinosaurs, Rocket Ships, and Strawberries.  (Yes, I had Evan on the brain while ordering!)  We also have some soft brads, more ribbon tape, new stickers and more.  The Crop a Dile Big Bite is in the house.  Have 2 looking for good homes.  This is one AWESOME tool.  If you love your original Crop a Dile this one is TO DIE FOR!  Have you seen the KI Memories 12x12 die cut paper?

Outing myself to the world!

I did it--I went ahead and linked myself to the world (or at least my customer base).  I will admit here and now--I am not computer savvy.  This blog will be a large learning experience for me.  I hope to blog often.  You will find some of the same info in my emails plus many, many extras.  I will also be asking everyone for input--cause I love get another person's point of view! 

So for those of you who don't know--here's little info on me:

My name is Laura Piercy and last year at this time I threw caution to the wind and started preparations to open a scrapbook store.  I am NOT a business person--in fact my degree is actually in Medical Technology.  I worked for 12+ years in hospital and doctor's office laboratories.  I became a scrapbooker about 8 years ago--but I have always loved ANYTHING crafty.  In the past few years I've discovered card making, stamping and so much more. 

I am also the mother of five children ranging in age from 9 years old to 1.   You can usually find one (or more) of them at the shop with me on any given day.  Children are a fixture at Memory Lane and more than welcome anytime!  My husband, Alan, is very supportive and helpful.  He owns AE Piercy, Inc (construction contractor) so he's in and out a lot of days. 

I have a lot of plans, hopes and dreams for Memory Lane.  But, most of all I want to create a haven for paper crafters.  Somewhere to find hard to find items, unique ideas, a sounding board or just a fun place for scrapping or sharing.  Stop in anytime!  Suggestions welcome.

Welcome to 2008 and our new BLOG!  I am establishing this blog as a go-to place for Memory Lane customers!  I want you all to be able to see class and workshop schedules, new products, sale information, great ideas, how-to's and more with just a click of your mouse!  Plus--I really hope to get more input on what YOU want to see at Memory Lane.  Check back often for updates!
